AAP forms a new working committee, nominates Amit Palekar as state unit president

In order to make a fresh start after the February 2022 assembly election and to strengthen its base, Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday appointed Adv. Amit Palekar as President of the Goa State Unit and AAP Benaulim MLA Capt Venzy Viegas and AAP Velim MLA Engr Cruz Silva as working President.

AAP’s Delhi MLA and Goa unit in-charge, Atishi announced the party’s decision during a press conference held at the Party’s Panaji office.

Atishi said, “People in Goa trusted the AAP and voted for us, which led to the victory of AAP candidates in Benaulim and Velim. As a party, AAP does not only contest elections; it has also been the voice of Goans, and in the future, AAP will continue to do so. The AAP is confident that it will form the government in the upcoming elections of 2027, for which we have already begun preparing”.

Adv. Amit Palekar, the President of AAP, said that even though AAP members weren’t elected to the assembly before the 2022 assembly election, AAP has played a very constructive role as an opposition party. Now that the Goans have given AAP a chance, our dynamic MLAs will speak for the Goans in the upcoming assembly sessions. As a newly elected president, I am committed to reaching out to each and every Goan and creating new leaders for the betterment of this state.

Mahadev Naik, AAP’s Campaign Committee President stated that there are so many issues of Goans that deserve attention. AAP will raise these issues in the upcoming assembly sessions.

AAP Women Wing President Pratima Coutinho said, “Women in the state make up 50% of the population. Several atrocities against women have recently been reported. Furthermore, due to increases in the rates of petrol and diesel, as well as the prices of vegetables and gas cylinders, women are experiencing numerous obstacles. AAP has changed the life of women in Delhi and Punjab by launching several initiatives for them. Similarly, AAP will be the issues of the Goan women.”

AAP Vice President Valmiki Naik said, “Due to the party’s excellent work, it has been able to win two seats in the assembly elections in 2022 and one seat in the Zilha Panchayat elections. With an eye toward expansion, AAP has established its new working committee to work for the betterment of the state”.

AAP Goa Media team Chief Spokesperson Rajdeep Naik said, “Government fears when AAP raises issues of the common people. Under the leadership of Adv. Amit Palekar, we will continuously raise the concerns of Goans and work towards finding a solution”.
