Innovative Navigation Stick by Rehan Khan Empowers Visually Impaired Users

Rehan Khan, a 9th-grade student at Airway Public School, has developed an innovative navigation stick aimed at assisting visually impaired individuals. This invention was officially registered on 8th July 2024 and received its patent on 17th October 2024. The design is unique within the country and incorporates advanced technology to enhance the lives of those who are visually impaired.

The navigation stick is equipped with special sensors and software that perform various functions, including object recognition, currency identification, water detection, and an emergency call feature activated by a single click. Additionally, it features a virtual assistant that responds to voice commands. The device can also transmit the user’s live location to a guide through a camera installed on the stick, providing essential information about the surroundings and facilitating quick assistance when needed.
