CM Pramod Sawant Launches CARES Educational Resources and Honours GoaCodes 2024 Winners

In a significant initiative to enhance education in Goa, Chief Minister of Goa launched the educational resources and products under the Coding And Robotics Education in Schools Scheme (#CARES). The event took place in the presence of key officials, including Education Secretary Shri Prasad Lolayekar and Director of DTE Dr. Vivek Kamat.

During the ceremony, Master Amol Naik from Murgaon High School and Master Aditya Naik from Shantadurga High School were awarded the CARES Creative Content Creator 2024 honors. The GoaCodes 2024 competition saw an impressive participation of over 4,200 students across various schools at taluka and state levels, with three state-level winners recognized for their outstanding achievements.

The CARES initiative introduces a comprehensive set of educational tools, including ICT elective curriculum handbooks for Classes VI to VIII, design journals, worksheets, a robotics hardware kit, and modules on programming, foundational data science, and artificial intelligence. The program also hosted the Bebras India Challenge 2024, where Goa excelled with four first ranks and 22 students ranking in the top 100 nationally.

Goa has set a precedent as the first state to implement such a program, benefiting approximately 65,000 students across 442 schools. In the upcoming academic year 2024-25, around 10,000 students will engage with the CARES elective curriculum, marking a significant step towards achieving self-reliance in technical education.

The Chief Minister extended his congratulations to all students, teachers, parents, and schools involved in this transformative journey, emphasizing that together they are building a brighter future for Goa’s youth.
