Vivekananda Angel Awards 2.0

The second edition of VAA (Vivekananda Angel Awards) is being organised by Ethernet Xpress Foundation on Tuesday 21 January, at 5pm at the Thomas Stephens Konkani Kendr, Porvorim. Since last year, these awards are given to those who are angels who help and support the underserved. The occasion is of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda by tithi as per Hindu calendar.

Four personalities will be honoured at hands of Libia Lobo Sardesai, freedom fighter, Goa’s first Director of Information and Tourism. Besides being an advocate of the needy, she founded two major institutions of Home Science College and Women’s Cooperative Bank in Goa.

The awardees include Durgadas Parab who
supports needy students through scholarships through Urja and Akshay Urja Foundation; Victor Hugo Gomes, Goa’s museum man who nurtures, guides and supports artisans and dying arts and skills; Naman Sawant Dhawaskar who supports the children of Vanarmare tribe through Samvedna Kendr; and Sandeep Parab who rehabilitated destitute and abandoned women through his organisation, Jeevanand

Ethernet Xpress Foundation is involved in many activities to support the needy students, women, self help groups. The VAA (Vivekananda Angel Awards) are being organised since last year to felicitate the efforts of those who consistently help the underserved.
