Today addressing a Press at State Headquarters Panaji, Goa Congress Chief Amit Patkar exposed the Goa Government for failing to recover the dues from erstwhile Lease holders towards the illegal mining done from the year 2007 till 2012. He claimed that in the year 2012 then BJP Chief Minister Mr Manohar Parrikar claimed that there was a scam of 35,000 Crores in the state of Goa. Basis which they came to power by fooling the people of Goa. Eventually then a committee of Chartered Accountant was constituted and detail investigation was done. The CA audit committee stated that the total illegal mining amount was approximately 352 Crores and not 35,000 Crores. Another BJP Jhumla is exposed said Patkar. He was accompanied by GPCC Media Department Chairman Amarnath Panjikar, General Secretary Archit Naik and District Presidents Virendra Shirodkar and Savio D’silva.
Referring to starred LAQ question raised by Leader of Opposition Shri Yuri Alemaos reply which was tabled on the floor of the House on 9/8/23, Patkar claimed that they had asked for more details under RTI from Directorate of Mines & Geology where more details were exposed. RTI revealed that the total amount receivable under the CA audit report was Rs. 352,22,76,147/- out of which Rs 80,47,30,460/- was recovered until 30/9/23.
For shocking a whopping amount of Rs. 271,75,36,687/- is still yet to be recovered by the Directorate of Mines & Geology. More shocking was that the Government has initiated Recovery Procedure for Defaulter through the respective Mamletdar of the Taluka under attachment of their assets. Out the above amount the majority of the amount of Rs. 165 Crores was pertaining to Vedanta Group companies. More shocking is that Vedanta was allowed to participate in the E-Auction bidding of mines inspite of being a serious defaulter towards the due payable towards illegal mining. Patkar charged that this is a serious violation of the tender procedures and Vedanta was illegally allowed to participate in the E auction of Mines. He further claimed that the Masters from Delhi gave directions to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to forcefully help the chrony capitalist Vedanta Ltd owned by Mr Anil Agarwal to get mines by looting the exchequer. This looks a direct nexus of Vedanta Ltd and Modi Government claimed Patkar.
He stated that this is just half the picture of the movie and other half will be exposed soon with more facts and figures.
Congress exposed the Goa Government of being bleeding for funds and Govt treasury being empty which was proved by statement of Minister Nilesh Cabral & Sudhin Dhavlikar said Patkar. Goa Government has failed to recover the money which is due payable by various companies and other side they are allowing this cheat companies to loot more. Goa Congress demanded that Chief Minister should encash Rs 271 after doing Laxmi Pujan on Diwali day.
Today we have exposed how the BJP Government is hand in gloves with the Crony Capitalist friends of Mr Modi. We demand to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to recover the dues immediately from these companies and also cancel the auctioned blocks which have been illegally given to them inspite of Vedanta Ltd defaulting Hundreds of Crores to pay to Goa Government towards illegal mining claimed Patkar.
