Teachers Training Workshop on “Skills for Adolescence” Held in Dabolim

Dabolim, Goa – The Lions Club of Dabolim successfully organized a two-day Teachers Training Workshop titled QUEST on November 30 and December 1, 2024, at Keshav Smruti High School. The workshop attracted over 30 teachers from schools in Dabolim, Sancoale, and Cortalim, focusing on the vital topic of “Skills for Adolescence.”

The program featured esteemed faculty members, including Smt. Kavita Shastri, a national trainer from Mangaluru, who served as the pilot faculty, and Smt. Sindhu from Kerala as the assistant faculty. Their expertise provided valuable insights into equipping educators with essential skills to support adolescents in their developmental journey.

The valedictory function took place on Sunday evening, graced by the presence of Mrs. Sylvia D’Souza, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Education, who was the chief guest. PMJF Lion Jai Amol Naik, the 1st Vice District Governor, attended as the guest of honor, while Dr. Lion Shanbhag, Quest District Coordinator, was a special guest at the event.

In her address, Mrs. D’Souza expressed her appreciation for the Lions Club of Dabolim’s initiative in organizing such a meaningful training program, emphasizing its relevance in today’s educational landscape. She commended the dedication of teachers who participated despite it being a weekend.

Lion Jai Amol Naik praised the efforts of the Lions Club and encouraged the incorporation of this training into school syllabi to further benefit students. Dr. Shanbhag pledged support to ensure that the program was executed systematically and efficiently.

The gathering was welcomed by Lion Eddie Fernandes, President of the Lions Club of Dabolim, while Lion Joyce Fernandes proposed a vote of thanks. Certificates were distributed to all participating teachers, recognizing their commitment to professional development.

The event was attended by notable figures including Smt. Sushma Korgaonkar, Headmistress of Keshav Smruti High School, Lion Ritu Arolkar, Region Chairperson, and Lion Harish Kumar, Zone Chairperson, along with numerous guests and members of the Lions Club.

This workshop not only highlighted the importance of teacher training but also reinforced community efforts to enhance educational standards in Goa.
