Team Goa had a successful Day One at the BFI Youth Men & Women National Boxing Championships in Tamil Nadu.
In the first round, in the Women’s section, Akshata Rathod won 5-0 against Samita Dev of Jammu & Kashmir. Rudha Rathod came out victorious against Kasihs Zala of Gujarat by RSC. Daniella D’Souza also defeated Sneha S of Tamil Nadu by RSC.
In the Men’s section, both Jeet Roy and Sanjay Gaonkar won 5-0 against Sultan Farooq of Jammu & Kashmir and Ayush Thapa of Meghalaya respectively.
At the end of Day One, Vice President of GABA, Lenny Da Gama appreciated the efforts put in by the players as well as coaches and also warned them to be prepared for a much tougher Round Two.
