Following the delegation of retrenched Ponda met with AAP MLAs on Monday and presented a memorandum, the AAP MLAs Capt Venzy Viegas and Engr. Cruz Silva extended their support and promised to meet CM Pramod Sawant soon to express their concerns.
AAP Velim MLA Engr Cruz Silva said, “The dismissed Postmen are sole breadwinners in the family. Their abrupt termination is completely unfair because they had been working as a postman for the past 18 years”.
AAP Benaulim MLA Capt Venzy Viegas said, “In the postal service, Goa is a part of the Maharashtra circle. This does not, however, imply that Maharashtrians should receive all employment and Goans should be neglected. I called CM Pramod Sawant and requested that he take the time to hear the problems of the postmen”.
It may be recalled, AAP Vice President Adv Surel Tilve was the first to bring up the subject. The AAP Vice President Adv Surel Tilve met with North Goa and South Goa MPs last week to urge them to intervene on behalf of the Ponda Postmen.
