Panaji – BJP Workers burnt the Effigy of Nation’s Leader Rahul Gandhi, but they will never be successful to erase his “Idea of India”. Nation’s Leader Rahul Gandhi is staunch follower of Truth, Unity, Communal Harmony and Democracy. He carries forward the Legacy of Great Leaders who Sacrificed to keep India United & Strong, stated Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.
Addressing the protesters gathered at Azad Maidan under the banner of INDIA Block, Yuri Alemao condemned the act of the dictatorial BJP Government of suspending the Members of Parliament. He lauded former Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane for speaking against Anti-Democratic and Dictatorial BJP Government.
Congress President Amit Patkar, Aam Aadmi Party President Amit Palekar, NCP President Jose Philip D’Souza, Shiv Sena’s Jitesh Kamat, TMC Office Bearer Tanoj Adwalpalkar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Congress MLA’s Adv. Carlos Ferreira, Altone D’Costa, Senior Vice President M.K. Shaikh, Mahila Congress President Beena Naik, NSUI President Naushad Chowdhari and others participated in the Protests.
Congress President Amit Patkar stated that BJP Government is trying to supress the Voice of the People. He condemned the act of the local BJP Unit of burning Effigy of Nation’s Leader Rahul Gandhi in the presence of two Cabinet Ministers.
Aldona MLA Adv.Carlos Ferreira while speaking demanded that Action needs to be taken against the BJP MP who issued Passes to the two accused who breached the Security and entered the Parliament. He also said that the amendments to Criminal Laws passed by the Parliament are draconian.
NCP President and former Minister Jose Philip D’Souza said that BJP is rattled because of formation of INDIA Block. This Alliance will defeat BJP in the coming Elections. TMC Office bearer Tanoj Adwalpalkar also condemned the suspension of the MP’s and said that United Opposition will work to protect Democracy. NSUI President Naushad Chowdhari also spoke.
All the Leaders sang “Hum Honge Kaamyab” song to express Solidarity with INDIA Block. M.K. Shaikh compeered the Protests. Protesters were holding Indian National Flag and Placards condemning Suspension of Members of Parliament.
