Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar and Archaeology Minister Shubash Phaldessai carry out joint Inspection of Mormugao Fort, Phaldessai says MPA has encroached the heritage fort area and access is denied to locals. Says fort which is the property of Archeology department will be restored , preserved and beautified . Phaldessai says will speak to CM Dr Pramod Sawant to find a balance way to get access to fort without breaching the security of MPA . Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar said it was a long pending demand of locals to restore the fort and be given access to the heritage fort and hence he had placed the question in the assembly. Amonkar added that this fort was unique and beautiful while overlooking the Arabian Sea with a radius of 9 kms . Amonkar also thanked Minister Shubash Phaldessai for giving assurance from the minister for restoration of fort with other facilities made available in the land around the fort belonging to Archeology department
