Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant chaired a meeting with the officers of the Goa Police Traffic Cell, PWD & Transport Department in relation to road safety. This meeting was attended by the Transport Director, SP & senior officers of the Goa Police Traffic Cell, Chief Engineer of the Road Engineering Department of the PWD.
In the meeting it was finalised that on 21st October 2022 a public program will be held in Panaji where in all the 3 departments would be present and the general public will be allowed to make their representation about road safety and various aspects related to it . Officers of these 3 departments would be present throughout the meeting and would note down the suggestions given to them by the general public.
The aim of this program is to allow the general public who have knowledge about their area and the problems that occur in their particular road section and as such they can provide suggestions for a smoother traffic flow and to prevent accidents from happening in the respective areas. An action plan would be created i.e. short term and long term based on the suggestions. The action plan would be followed and implemented by the concerned department in the time frame decided by the government.
