In a dramatic turn of events on November 25, 2024, at approximately 12:15 PM, the vigilant officers of the Tourist Police Unit made a heart-stopping discovery while patrolling the picturesque Colva Beach. A young boy, later identified as 15-year-old Master Mirzan Akmal from Kerala, was spotted in distress and attempting to hide from the police.
The quick-thinking officers—HC Namdev Mandrekar, PC Mahesh Shankavaram, Kalpesh Mulgaonkar, and HG Sweta Devidas—immediately sprang into action, chasing down the frightened boy. Upon apprehending him, they began to unravel a troubling mystery. When questioned about his presence in Goa, Mirzan’s responses raised red flags, prompting the officers to contact his father, Mr. Sulfikkar.
The shocking revelation came to light when Mr. Sulfikkar informed the police that his son had been missing since the previous day and that a missing person report had already been filed at the Kochi Palluruthy Police Station in Kerala.
Thanks to the swift response of the Tourist Police, Mirzan was safely handed over to Colva Police Station for further investigation and necessary actions. Authorities are now working closely with both families to understand how the boy ended up alone on the beach and what led to his disappearance.
This incident highlights not only the dedication of the Tourist Police in ensuring the safety of visitors but also raises concerns about child safety and awareness in tourist areas. As investigations continue, local communities are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
