The Goa Trinamool Congress today welcomed former BJP Executive Committee member from Poriem Shri Ganpat Gaonkar and former AAP leader Shri Siddharth Patil to the party fold. Both the senior leaders joined Goa TMC at two separate events. Shri Gaonkar joined the party in the presence of Goa TMC leaders Shri Shivdas Naik, Shri Kanta Gaude, Smt Swati Kerkar and Shri Dashrath Mandrekar.

At the joining event, Shri Ganpat Gaonkar said that the reason he joined TMC was because the party has the intention to work for Goans. He hit out strongly at the Rane (Shri Pratapsingh Rane and Vishwajit Rane) family, and accused them for stalling all development work in Poriem and Valpoi.

Shri Gaonkar said, ‘It has been 50 years since Goa’s liberation but Sattari is still under the regime of the Ranes and they are responsible for the poor development in Poriem and Valpoi.’

Saying that no other party in the state recognised his efforts, Shri Gaonkar thanked AITC Chairperson Smt Mamata Banerjee for recognising his hard work on the ground.

Extending a warm welcome to Shri Gaonkar, Shri Kanta Gaude said, ‘Goa has been independent for 50 years but freedom of people is under threat because of the misrule of the BJP. The land ownership issues in Valpoi should be resolved. TMC assures to work for it.’

Speaking to the media, Shri Dashrath Mandrekar echoed similar sentiments. He said the people of Goa will oust the BJP and Congress to bring TMC to power and end the tyranny of the Rane family.

At a separate event in Panaji, former AAP Zila Parishad candidate Shri Sidharth Patil from Sanvordem joined the party in the presence of senior Goa TMC leaders Shri Lavoo Mamledar and Shri Kanta Gaude.

Following the induction, Shri Lavoo Mamledar welcomed Shri Patil into the party fold and asserted that Goa TMC along with grassroots leaders will fulfil all its promises and raise critical issues at the national level.

Praising the leadership of AITC Chairperson Smt Mamata Banerjee, Shri Patil stated, ‘I was on the lookout for a platform which can be used to serve the people of Goa. And I am honoured to be given a chance by Goa TMC.’

Further highlighting issues being faced by the youth, Shri Patil said resolving the issue of unemployment will be Goa TMC’s priority.

Goa TMC wholeheartedly welcomes both prominent grassroots leaders into the party and hopes to work in complete collaboration with the determined leaders to reform Goa.
