Excellence Education Academy, a pioneering institution in hospitality education, was formally inaugurated today, marking the launch of Goa’s first CTH-UK accredited institute offering Ofqual-recognised British qualifications in Culinary Arts, Cruise Management, Bakery, and Bartending.
The ceremony, attended by senior government officials, celebrity chefs, and key industry leaders, was graced by Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Tourism & Skill Development. The minister highlighted the state’s commitment to strengthening vocational training and fostering world-class talent in the hospitality sector.
Renowned celebrity chef Kunal Kapur, delivering the keynote address, emphasised the need for recognised skill-based institutes that offer industry-relevant curricula taught by seasoned professionals. Ms. Jayant Chauhan, Country Head for CTH India, Bhutan, and Nepal, affirmed the academy’s alignment with global education benchmarks.
Positioned as a state-of-the-art centre for hospitality learning, Excellence Education Academy aims to bridge the skills gap in India’s rapidly expanding hospitality industry. With professional-grade kitchens and industry-standard training environments, the academy promises an immersive, practical learning experience. Its curriculum, developed in collaboration with industry experts, focuses on technical skill, creativity, soft skills, and adaptability.
The event witnessed participation from prominent culinary figures including Chef Avinash Martins, Chef Ralph, and Chef Raj, alongside general managers of leading hotel properties and senior officials from government and educational institutions—signalling strong industry confidence in the academy.
With India’s hospitality sector projected to generate millions of jobs in the coming decade, the academy seeks to prepare industry-ready professionals through hands-on training, internships, mentorship programmes, and pathways to globally recognised certifications.
