CM Dr Pramod Sawant Inaugurates Workshop to Empower Women Entrepreneurs Through E-Commerce

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated a workshop focused on “Orientation Towards Market Access and Democratization of E-Commerce in India,” organized in collaboration with the National Rural Livelihood Mission Foundation and Policy Watch India Foundation, with support from Flipkart. The workshop aims to equip artisans, craftspeople, and women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with essential skills for market access and digital empowerment.

The event was attended by notable figures including Mr. Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Flipkart, and Mr. Gopal Parsekar, Director of Rural Development, among other dignitaries.

This initiative is part of the broader vision of Aajivika Nirman and the Swayampurna Goa program, which seeks to empower women SHGs and promote financial independence and digital capabilities among participants. The development of women entrepreneurship is seen as crucial for achieving the goals of Viksit Goa and Viksit Bharat.

Dr. Sawant emphasized that collaborative efforts between the Government of Goa, the Government of India, and private entities like Flipkart are creating valuable platforms for women entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products online. He expressed confidence that this orientation program would enhance their business capacities and contribute to economic growth.
