CEO launches voter awareness mobile van Lokshahicho Rath
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer in its continous efforts to make voters more aware of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machine launched an intensive voter awareness mobile van ‘Lokshahicho Rath’ in collaboration with both District Election Officer North and South Goa.
The mobile van will travel in eveach and every polling station in all 40 Assembly Constituencies of Goa and will demonstrate EVM- VVPAT machine.
Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation or SVEEP has been started by the Election Commission of India to educate citizen about the electoral process ahead of the forthcoming Assembly Election 2022.
The mobile van Lokshahicho Rath which will carry EVM VVPAT machine is launched to generate awareness among the general public regarding the use and functioning of machines.
The mobile van Lokshahicho Rath will travel in all constituency as per the prepared scheduled and will demonstrate functioning of machines through expert team.
The main objective of demonstration is to impart hands-on training about the functioning of EVM/ VVPAT machine which will help to build a sense of confidence among voters. Voters can verify their vote by seeing slip. Voters will be encouraged to cast mock and their queries regarding the machine will be answered by expert team.
The vehicle will carry the required equipment like Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) Control Unit and VVPAT. A route chart has been prepared by CEO office and DEO. The schedule of mobile van will be shared daily on social media handle of CEO Goa and will also available on the website of office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO)
The Chief Electoral Officer appealed to all citizens to participate in hands-on demo on functioning of EVM/VVPAT machine which are organised in every constituency of the State and static demo centre opened at all taluka offices.
