BENAULIM: Three individuals underwent free cataract surgeries as part of the AAP Benaulim constituency’s cataract operation scheme, coinciding with the birthday of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who mentors AAP Benaulim MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas.
Capt. Venzy Viegas initiated this unique scheme for free cataract surgeries on August 9 under the Vision Clinic, announcing that several operations would take place on August 16.
Capt. Venzy, who regards Arvind Kejriwal as his political mentor since the IAC movement, emphasizes that education is essential for a country’s progress. He believes that health is a crucial factor in educating children.
“On the birthday of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, we successfully performed three cataract surgeries for local residents of Benaulim through a special arrangement with ASG Hospital. Healthy children will thrive and contribute to India’s development as we approach our centenary,” Viegas remarked.
As a gesture of appreciation for Arvind Kejriwal’s contributions to India and his guidance in states like Punjab, Goa, and Gujarat, Capt. Venzy completed these surgeries on August 16 to honor his mentor.
He also mentioned that more cataract surgeries are planned in the coming months and encouraged residents of Benaulim to visit the Vision Clinic for eye check-ups, highlighting the importance of good eyesight for everyone.
