*”AAP will not stop working to help Goans become self reliant”*
Adv Pratima Coutinho inaugurated a training center for women Self Help Groups in Rundamol Housing board Navelim today. The inauguration was done in the presence of Anjali Rai former DCW head and AAP Womens President PAtricia Fernandes. The centre was set up to help women to become self reliant in making simple products. The AAP has started a huge push around jobs and employment in Goa and apart from Kejriwal’s job guarantee they are working on the local level to empower Goenkars.
Many of the women who will receive training in this centre come from families where atleast one person has lost their job due to the economic effects of the pandemic. Goans have been suffering due to loss of jobs and rising prices while the Govt has been turning a blind eye to their suffering. At the same time unemployment has been rising with no jobs in sight.
The attempt of the centre is to help women become self sufficient and help out their families in this time of need. This comes on the back of similar initiatives for women in Quepem where AAP’s women’s wing already runs a self help centre and a career guidance workshop attended by more than a 100 youth in Benaulim.
“Our vision is to help the women of Navelim to stand on their own two feet. This also a part of Arvind Kejriwals vision where in Delhi his Govt provides support to many women and youth to start their own businesses whether it is by the skill university, unemployment support or support to entrepreneurship” said Pratima Coutinho AAP Goa Vive President.
