AAP MLA Cruz Silva reintroduces ambulance service in Velim

Following Aam Aadmi Party MLA Engr Cruz Silva’s demand in the assembly session and constant follow-up with Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane, the ambulance service in Velim constituency has been reintroduced after being discontinued in 2019.

Silva inaugurated the 108 ambulance service at his office premises in the presence of Velim parish priest Fr Anthony Fernandes, Chinchinim panch and AAP General Secretary Gerson Gomes, and senior citizens of Velim constituency.

At the official inauguration of the ambulance service at Velim on Monday, Silva noted that the service will benefit surrounding villages as well. Upon being elected to the Assembly as an MLA, Silva pushed for the reinstatement of ambulance services in Velim.

In addition, Silva expressed his gratitude to health minister Vishwajeet Rane for providing the ambulance back to the location and to Sushma Saini (GVK EMRI 108 Chief of Operations).

The new ambulance service from MLA includes a fully equipped van with full medical amenities like patient transport, ICU, ventilator and oxygen as well as a motorcycle ambulance which includes a solo paramedic or first responder to a patient, which is able to respond to a medical emergency.

AAP President Adv. Amit Palekar commended the Velim MLA on his efforts in getting essential health services to his constituency, and added that striving to provide the best education and best health services to people is the hallmark of an AAP MLA, whether in ruling or in opposition.
