FRANCISCO XAVIER MICKKY PACHECO ANNOUNCES HIS CANDIDATURE FROM BENAULIM CONSTITUENCY FOR THE 2027 GOA ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS
“Benaulim is where my political journey began, where the people placed their trust in me, and where I am determined to return to serve them with renewed commitment.”
I am pleased to announce my firm decision to contest the forthcoming 2027 Goa Legislative Assembly Elections from Benaulim Constituency on the ticket of the United Goans Democratic Party (UGDP), the political party with which my political journey began.
Benaulim is not merely a constituency for me; it is the place where I began my political journey, earned the trust of the people and received the honour of being elected to serve them. The people of Benaulim elected me three times, giving me their valuable mandate, affection and confidence. That trust remains one of the greatest honours of my public life, and I shall always remain grateful to the people for the faith they have placed in me.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to serve the people in different capacities. My political journey has taught me that public service must be measured not by promises or political slogans, but by the actual difference made in the lives of ordinary people.
After I shifted my political focus to Nuvem Constituency, I continued to observe the aspirations and concerns of the people of Benaulim. I firmly believe that many people here feel that the constituency has not witnessed the level of development, attention and positive change they had hoped for. The people deserve effective representation, accessible leadership and a stronger voice for their concerns.
I have received overwhelming encouragement, affection and requests from people in Benaulim who want me to return and contest from the constituency. I am deeply humbled by this response. After careful consideration, I have decided that my political future and my commitment to public service will be centred on Benaulim once again.
I am confident that the people of Benaulim will judge this decision on the basis of my past record, my experience, my accessibility and my commitment to their welfare. I am equally confident that, with their continued trust and support, I can secure a larger victory margin than in my previous elections.
This decision is not merely about contesting an election. It is about returning to the people who gave me the opportunity to serve, renewing an old bond of trust and working together to address the issues that matter most to Benaulim.
My priorities will be to strengthen local infrastructure, improve roads and civic amenities, support employment and livelihood opportunities, protect the interests of local residents, encourage responsible development and ensure that the voices of ordinary citizens are heard. I want Benaulim to progress while preserving its unique identity, community values, environment and heritage.
I also wish to make it clear that my decision is guided by my commitment to public service and my belief that politics must remain rooted in the people. I have never considered political office to be a personal privilege; I consider it a responsibility entrusted to me by the electorate.
The people of Benaulim Constituency have witnessed what they describe as the arrogance and disastrous consequences of leadership driven by personal vision rather than the aspirations of the people. Many residents have expressed their concern that electing such representatives can be like allowing a poisonous snake to grow inside one’s own house. This is a strong reminder that voters must choose their representatives carefully, based on their conduct, accountability, commitment and ability to serve the public interest.
I am returning to Benaulim with experience, determination and a clear purpose. I seek the blessings, trust and support of every resident, irrespective of community, religion or political affiliation. My commitment is to serve all the people of Benaulim fairly, sincerely and without discrimination.
The 2027 Assembly Elections will provide the people with an opportunity to decide the future direction of their constituency. I have placed my record of public service before the people, and now I place before them my vision for Benaulim and my renewed commitment to its progress. I seek their mandate once again.
With the support and blessings of the people, I am confident that together we can build a stronger, more prosperous and better Benaulim.
Benaulim is where my journey began. Benaulim is where I renew my commitment. And Benaulim is where I seek the people’s mandate to serve once again.
