Faldessai unveils All Goa Bhajan Competition at Cumbharjua

Panaji: Chairman of Goa Rehabilitation Board and Cumbharjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai on Friday inaugurated the two-day All Goa Bhajan Competition at Shri Ram Temple, Rambhuvan Wada, Cumbharjua.

Also present were Cumbharjua sarpanch Nandakumar Shet, Deputy Sarpanch Vrinda Joshi, panch members Surendra Naik, Sachin Gaude, Sudhir Phadte, former panch Prashant Bhandari, Suraj Tari, Chairman of Ram Temple Committee and other dignitaries.

The competition is being held from 9am to 10pm for the two days.

The prizes for the competition are as follow: First place – Rs 50,000 and trophy, second place – Rs 30,000 and trophy and third place – Rs 20,000 and trophy. Every participating group will get Rs 5,000.

The prize distribution ceremony will be held on 16th September.

“I was inspired by the recent Margao Bhajan competition where I was invited as chief guest, and hence I immediately at the event decided to organise a similar programme in our constituency. The sounds of this programme will resonate across the locality. We expect a lot of people to come here for this two-day programme. This will also benefit our youngsters who will learn something from this and take it forward in the future We also need a Ganapati Dekhavi here, and we will have a grand one next year,” the MLA said.

In his address, Shet praised the MLA for this initiative. “Our MLA has organised this event for the benefit of our youth. There are many such programmes that our MLA organises. Soon after Ganesh Chaturthi, he plans to have a ghumat artiste competition. He also organises fugadi competition that serves as a platform for our women,” he said.
