The Duo of accused persons Mr. Sandeep Megnath Kandolkar and Mr. Navnath Megnath Kandolkar, both R/o Vaddem, Succoro Bardez, Goa have been arrested by Mapusa Police for committing attempt to murder at Aldona, Bardez,Goa on 25th of May this year.
SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi informed that on 25.05.2023 Mr. Kalidas Rohidas Bordekar R/o Vaiginwado, Nachinola, Bardez Goa lodged his complaint regarding serious assault to his brother Mr. Pundalik Bordekar and his friend Salvador Ferrao by Mr. Sandeep Kandolkar, his brother Mr. Navnath Kandolkar and others at Olaulim Pomburpha by using rods, hockey stick, knife etc. causing serious bodily injuries to Mr. Pundalik Bordekar and Mr. Salvador Ferrao.
In this Connection Mapusa Police Station Crime No. 81/2023 U/Sec 341, 504, 324 307, 506 (ii), 427 R/w 34 was registered.
During the course of Investigation PI Mapusa constituted the team of staff and different teams were deputed at Belgavi, Karnatka and Kolhapur, Maharashtra to locate the accused MrSandeep Kandolkar and Navnath Kandolkar who were on run. The team made all out efforts which curtailed the movement of both the accused as such Mr. Sandeep Kandolkar and Navnath Kandolkar approached approach led the Hon’ble District Session Court, Panaji for seeking relief from arrest. However, on perusing the record of Investigation, Hon’ble District Sessions Court, Panaji rejected the application of the accused of granting them relief
Further, both accused approached Hon’ble High Court of Bombay at Goa, Porvorim to grant them relief from arrest. However on the date of hearing on perusing the case papers both accused were enforced to withdraw their Anticipatory bail application.
Further, both accused Mr. Sandeep Megnath Kandolkar and Mr. Navnath Megnath Kandolkar, both R/o Vaddem, SuccoroBardez, Goa surrendered before the Hon’ble JMFC, Mapusa upon which their custody was taken and arrested in on 10.07.2023.
The vehicle and the weapons used in the commission of offence have been seized by the police.
Further investigation is in progress with PSI Yeshwant Mandrekar and PI Mapusa Sitakant Nayak under the supervision of SDPO MAPUSA Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valsan IPS.
