Some wasted elements have made fresh attempts to disrupt the communal harmony among the peaceful Goans. At the new Manohar Parrikar International Airport, an image of the sacred Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa is printed on a sign board displaying washroom. The World famous Basilica of Bom Jesus has a special place in the hurt of Goan people & by projecting holy Old Goa church in bad light, a fresh attempt is made now to hurt religious sentiments of Goan people & only to divert attention of common Goan people from burning issues of Goa.
Today a delegation of Congress leaders including Elvis Gomes, Janardhan Bhandari, Viren Shirodkar, Rajesh Sawal, Glean Cabral & others visited the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa & prayed to strengthen communal harmony among all Goans on the backdrop of attempt made to hurt religious sentiments of people with washroom picture with Basilica of Bom Jesus. These Congress leaders expressed confidence that Goans will not fall prey to such cheap tactics to disturb communal harmony among people of Goa. The Congress delegation also prayed to God to forgive the culprits & give good sense to such people who always try to disrupt religious sentiments of people to fulfil their own ulterior motives.
