Goa Saras Exhibition & Sale Inaugurated by CM Dr. Pramod Sawant

Margao, Goa – Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Goa Saras Exhibition & Sale of Handicrafts and Food at Ravindra Bhavan today, highlighting the significant role of women entrepreneurs in the state. The event was attended by Social Welfare Minister Shri Subhash Phal Dessai, MLA Shri Ulhas Tuenkar, and other dignitaries.

During the inauguration, Dr. Sawant emphasized the importance of the Goa Saras initiative as a platform that celebrates and empowers women across Goa. He noted that nearly 400,000 women are actively engaged through Self-Help Groups (SHGs), contributing significantly to the Swayampurna Goa mission. The Chief Minister praised these women for their leadership and dedication to sustainable development.

Dr. Sawant encouraged attendees to explore the diverse range of products showcased at the exhibition and support local artisans and entrepreneurs. He remarked on the potential for growth among women in Goa, stating that there is a significant opportunity for women aged 30 to 60 to become “Lakhpati Didis” under the Rural Development Agency programs.

The Goa Saras Exhibition serves not only as a marketplace for handicrafts and food but also as a celebration of entrepreneurship and craftsmanship in Goa, fostering community spirit and economic development.
