FDA in its special surprise Diwali campaign seized Parathas & Mawa Paratha worth around Rs 34 thousand & Mawa worth around Rs 157000/- were seized.
Parathas were manufactured outside the state, & transported through luxury buses which were not labelled as per the provisions of Food Safety Act & the FBO at Goa. No purchase bill or invoice was available with the vendor. 590kg expired Mawa was seized from the premises at Mapusa.
120kg Mawa & other sweets from FBO at Davorlim & 60kg Mawa from a FBO at Fatorda. FBOs were operating without FSSAI licence at other places.Unlicensed FBOs are directed to stop operations.
