Enforcement drive was carried out at the Feast stalls in Old Goa by a team of FDA officials.

It was observed that, inspite of the FDA’s and Panchayats directives, the vendors were engaged in cooking activities in open areas under unhygienic conditions. They were observed disposing food waste and water behind the stall areas thereby creating a noxious environment. FDA brought it to the notice of the Health Officer Corlim and has also written to old Goa police seeking their assistance in maintaining a strict check on the stalls that were shut.
All together 13 food stalls were asked to shut down.
The stalls were making Biryani, chaat items, golas and sherbats, kebabs etc.
The FDA has deputed a team which will carry out strict checks on 2nd and 3rd Decemebr to ensure all stalls are observing proper hygiene norms.
The checks were carried out by Designated Officer Richard Noronha, Sr Foods Safety Officer, Rajaram Patil and Food Safety Officer, Atul Desai Vishwas Rao and Noisin Mulla.
FDA has appealed to the public not to patronize any stalls which do not observe proper hygiene.
