Panaji, Goa – July 14, 2023 – The 4th Energy Transition Ministerial Meeting, a significant global gathering of policymakers and industry leaders committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions, is set to witness an exciting side event “Electrify Goa”(EV) Rally on 22nd July’2023.The rally will commence from Santa Monica jetty, Panaji and culminate at the prestigious Shyama Prasad A. Mukherjee Stadium, Bambolim, Goa. The event will showcase the state’s commitment to clean energy and sustainable transportation.
The “Electrify Goa” EV rally, organized by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE) and G20 Goa Secretariat will bring together participants from various backgrounds, including EV enthusiasts, runners and cyclists with an aim to highlight the potential of electric vehicles in reducing carbon emissions, promoting a greener future and supporting sustainable mobility.
Chief Minister of Goa, Dr.Pramod Sawant states “We are delighted to have Goa host this event, as the state has been at the forefront of embracing clean energy and promoting EV adoption. I extend a warm invitation to participants from across the globe to join us in this momentous event. The EV rally in Goa will not only mark a significant milestone in our journey towards a greener Goa but also contribute to the global efforts in combating climate change”.

The EV rally will provide a platform for EV manufacturers, technology providers, and enthusiasts to showcase their vehicles and share knowledge about the latest advancements in electric mobility. It will also serve as a forum for dialogue on the challenges and opportunities in scaling up EV adoption and establishing robust charging infrastructure.
“Participants will embark on an exhilarating journey, traversing the scenic landscapes of Goa, while promoting sustainable practices and raising awareness about the benefits of EVs. The rally route has been meticulously planned to showcase the state’s natural beauty and its commitment to sustainability” said Mr. Sanjit Rodrigues, Nodal Officer- G20.
The event highlights also include Runners’ Circuit: A Clean Energy Fun Run that will be set up alongside the rally route, allowing avid runners to join the event and participate in a non-competitive run. This inclusion of runners emphasises the importance of physical activity and highlights the compatibility of active lifestyles and sustainable transportation. A Cyclists’ Avenue will also be integrated into the event, enabling cyclists of all ages and skill levels to pedal alongside the EV Rally. This segment promotes cycling as an eco-friendly mode of transportation while fostering a sense of community among participants. A Dance Zone will be created along the route at Miramar Beach, dance groups, Zumba Groups and individual from the community are invited to come and dance on the street in a CAR FREE Zone.
