CHIEF MINISTERS FIRE SERVICE MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE/GALLANTRY AWARDED TO THE FIRE PERSONNEL ON GOA LIBERATION DAY, 19TH DECEMBER 2022

On the occasion of Goa Liberation Day, 19th December 2022, the Government of Goa had awarded of Chief Minister Fire Service Medal for
Meritorious Service/ Gallantry to the Fire Personnel of the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services;

CITATION FOR THE AWARD OF GOA CHIEF MINISTER’S FIRE SERVICE MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE TO BE PRESENTED ON 19TH DECEMBER 2022.

  •  RAVINDRANATH V. PEDNEKAR, STATION FIRE OFFICER


Ravindranath V. Pednekar, Station Fire Officer joined the Department on 26.09.1983 as Fire Fighter. He was subsequently promoted to the post of Leading Fire Fighter on 20.12.2006, Sub Officer on 03.01.2013 and Station Fire Officer on 12.01.2018. He has undergone Elementary Course in General Fire Fighting and Sub Officer’s Course from the National Fire Service College, Ministry of Home Affairs, Nagpur in the year 2013. He has worked at various Fire Stations and has executed keen interest in executing difficult task in the operational field. He has completed 39 years in the Department. During his tenure, he was awarded Certificate of Commendation for dedication towards
duties during Rescue Operation for major Building collapse of Ruby Residency at Canacona on 04.01.2014. He was awarded certificate of Merit on 3 occasions for best turnout in Fire Fighting Category. In recognition of his Meritorious Service to the Department,  Ravindranath V. Pednekar, Station Fire Officer is being awarded the Goa Chief Minister’s Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service on the auspicious occasion of Goa Liberation Day on 19th December 2022.

 

  • RUI FERNANDES, SUB-OFFICER

Rui Fernandes, Sub Officer joined the Department on 15.10.1984 as Fire Fighter. He was subsequently promoted to the post
of Leading Fire Fighter in the year 2006 and Sub-Officer in the year 2013. He has completed unblemished service of 38 years in the
Department. During his tenure, he has worked at various Fire Stations and has executed keen interest in executing difficult task in the operational field. He was awarded Commendatory Notes for Good Discipline and General Behavior on two occasions i.e. on 14.04.2000 and
14.04.2019. He is the Officer-In-Charge of 32 meter Aerial Ladder Platform which is used for Fire and Rescue Operations in High Rise Building. He has trained many fire personnel’s in handling & operation of Aerial Ladder Platform. In recognition of his Meritorious Service to the Department,  Rui Fernandes, Sub Officer is being awarded the Goa Chief Minister’s Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service on the auspicious occasion of Goa Liberation Day on 19th December 2022.

 

  •  DEVANAND V. PARSEKAR, WATCH ROOM OPERATOR

Devanand V. Parsekar, joined in the Department on 05.04.1987 as Fire Fighter and subsequently promoted to the post of Watch Room
Operator in the year 1990. He has undergone Elementary Course in General Fire Fighting. He has completed Communication Instructors
Course at National Civil Defence College Nagpur in the year 2004. He has completed 35 years in the Department. He was awarded Commendatory Note for Good Discipline and General Behavior on two occasion i.e. on 14.04.2017 and 14.04.2022. He was awarded Certificates of Merit for Annual Fire Drill Competition on 2 occasions in the year 2003 and 2004. In recognition of his Meritorious Service to the Department,  Devanand V. Parsekar,Watch Room Operator is being awarded the Goa Chief Minister’s Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service on the auspicious occasion of Goa Liberation Day on 19th December 2022.

 

  •  DHARMENDRA G. NAIK, LEADING FIRE FIGHTER


Dharmendra G. Naik has joined the Department on 15.10.1996 as Fire Fighter. He was subsequently promoted to the post of Leading Fire Fighter in the year 2013. He has completed 26 years in the Department.On 05.07.2022 at 10.40 hours, a call was received at Curchoremm Fire Station wherein a male person by name Sunil Chauhan, aged 30 years was trapped in overflowing river Kushawati at Bhat, Quepem Goa at a distance of 20 mtrs away from the bank of river. Dharmendra G. Naik, Leading Fire Fighter by showing exemplary courage got down in the river with the help rope and floating equipment and rescued  Sunil Chauhan, Aged 30 years, disregarding his personal safety. In recognition of his exemplary courage,  Dharmendra G. Naik, Leading Fire Fighter is being awarded the Goa Chief Minister’s Fire Service Medal for Gallantry on the auspicious occasion of Goa Liberation Day on 19th December 2022
