Beyond sun, sand and sea: what three days of global business mean for every Goan
Vibrant Goa Global Business Summit 2026 makes the case for trade as Goa’s second engine, from MSMEs and students to taxis, hotels and the diaspora
Panaji, Goa, 15 October 2026: Goa welcomed a record 1.08 crore tourists in 2025, and tourism drives around 16% of the State’s economy. But a State that depends on one industry is exposed to every downturn in it. From 29 to 31 October, the Vibrant Goa Global Business Summit (VGGBS) 2026 makes the case for a second engine: trade.
The benefits go beyond the stadium at Goa University. Hotels, homestays, taxis, restaurants, caterers, printers and event crews will all see demand from more than 10,000 business delegates and 300+ international buyers. Goan MSMEs, from food processors to engineering firms, get 1,000+ meetings with buyers without leaving home. More than 300 students get to work alongside global delegates through the Student Buddy Programme. Goans abroad are invited back through the COGGE Conclave, to be addressed by Governor Shri Rajendra Arlekar, himself a Goan.
“When the world comes to Goa, the impact goes beyond the summit,” said Vinay Verma, Chairman, VGGBS 2026. “Every room booked, every taxi ride and every export order stays in Goa’s economy.”
The summit is part of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant’s push for a Swayampurna Goa. “I invite the world to come to Goa not only for its beaches, but for business,” the Chief Minister said. Union Ministers Shri Piyush Goyal and Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw have been invited, and Kapil Dev delivers the valedictory keynote on 31 October.
“Seven years on, Vibrant Goa’s stage has become a marketplace,” said Rajkumar Kamat, Chairman, Vibrant Goa Foundation. “Goa’s future lies in trade and enterprise as much as in tourism.”
