PANAJI: Aldona Congress candidate Carlos Alvares Ferreira is receiving an overwhelming response from his door to door campaign and is attempting to visit as many households in his constituency as possible in order to meet the people and understand their problems.
The Former Union Minister and Dy CM of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot also joined the Aldona Congress candidate during the door to door campaign in Bastora on Thursday. He expressed confidence that his party will get a clear majority in the February 14 Goa elections and the Congress will form the government in the state.
“It is interesting to see that many parties are trying to enter Goa but the voters will look at the background of parties who are capable of delivering. The manifesto of the Congress will serve as a road map for the government We are confident of winning with a clear majority,” said the Senior Congress Leader, Pilot while addressing reporters.
During his door-to-door campaign, Carlos urged people to vote for the ‘hand’ symbol for a corrupt-free government in Goa.
“I have been meeting people to get a first-hand experience of the issues plaguing the common man. I am personally going door-to-door and see their conditions, problems and understand their issues. People will be upset if I don’t visit them. Hence, I will visit as many houses as possible and connect with them. I have requested my party not to depute star campaigners due to paucity of time. When I win, I can hold many meetings and get star campaigners later,” Adv Carlos said.
“Aldona requires good planning and execution which has not been undertaken. Healthcare and employment generation will be my top most priority once voted to power. This time, the people of Goa will give new people a chance. I believe that is in Goa’s best interests,” he added.
One can recall that Carlos kicked off his campaign in September, a little over four months before the party gave him ticket confirmation and has completed 90 percent of the booths in the constituency.
