Sim 37 Singapore open championship which was held from7th to 11th February 2018 has concluded and Dayne Edgar aged 19 from goa walks away with the silver medal for India in men’s category .
The championship was opened to all and allowed the Asian sailors to compete in innovative race formats In a series of 12 races and two discards. strong winds gusting from 8-18 knots favoured Dayne and led him to the topmost position ever achieved in the history of Indian windsurfing .
Illaham Wahab, sea games silver medalist and world no. 5 sealed the crown . Goan dayne put in his best performance, but due to lack of international coaching / ,was left disappointed . Gede subaiasa from Indonesia took the bronze . Dayne has proved that India has medal winning potential at the Asian games 2018 scheduled from 18th to 2nd October .
The RS one is the confirmed class at the Asian games 2018 .In International arenas the federation lay down planned development programs prior to Asian games /olympics.where as Daynes programme still stands nil.
